Here are a few tips to have a safe and enjoyable summer road trip:

1. Pre-trip Inspection. Including tire checks, fluid levels, oil change, AC check, lights and wipers. Consider having a professional service these items to ensure your vehicle is in top condition for the trip.
2. Road Trip Essentials. Having these will make the trip better for all the road warriors. An emergency kit with jumper cables, some basic tools, flashlight, batteries, some first aid supplies. Make sure your navigation is up to date, in vehicle or via phone app to make for stress free directions. Entertainment, snacks, drinks and comfort items like pillows, blankets and personal items makes everyone happy.
3. Safety & Planning. Planning the route, including rest stops along the way. Pre-book accommodations if needed. Check the weather forecast. Limit nighttime driving and stay alert with frequent breaks or driver changes.  

Finally, travel insurance may be needed if travelling out of province or Canada. Enjoy the journey.
